Zinc plated DIN 6916 washers have a thin layer of zinc electroplated onto the surface. The zinc coating provides a sacrificial layer that helps protect the washer from corrosion. Zinc plating offers moderate corrosion resistance and is commonly used in indoor or low-corrosion environments.
HDG (hot-dip galvanized) DIN 6916 washers undergo a hot-dip galvanizing process, where they are immersed in a bath of molten zinc. This forms a thicker and more durable zinc coating compared to zinc plating. HDG provides enhanced corrosion resistance and is suitable for outdoor, high-moisture, or corrosive environments.
